Become a Bones For Homes Ambassador
Today's kids can be very busy with school, sports and extra-curricular activities. Finding free time for community service projects is difficult, especially if you'd like to help out animal shelters because most animal shelters require you to be 16 years old or accompanied by an adult to volunteer...or at least get you to the shelter.
With the Bones For Homes Ambassador program, you can volunteer on your own time! Our Ambassador program enables busy kids the opportunity to volunteer and raise money for animal shelters in their community by baking/selling dog biscuits...on their own schedule. To receive a free starter kit, complete a BFH Ambassador Application and identify the animal shelter that you will be supporting in your community and get parental approval. Once accepted into the program, you will be featured in our monthly newsletter featuring fund-raising tips, new recipes and much more. Click here to download the Ambassador Application.

We're doing something, are you?
We were officially notified on June 7th, that Bones For Homes was awarded with a $1000 ASPCA Animal Action Grant from Do Something. With the money we will be creating 'start up kits' for Bones for Home Ambassadors across the nation. If you are under the age of 16 and want to support animal shelters in your community, then we've got a great program to help you get started. If you are interested in becoming a Bones For Homes Ambassador, and receiving your free 'start up kit', click here to download an Ambassador Application . Tell us a little bit about yourself and we'll send you the program rules and the Ambassador Application.

BFH Founder

Co Founders, Anna & Aubie McCarthy
Bones for Homes is a youth led, non-profit volunteer organization founded by Anna McCarthy. All proceeds are donated to Animal Shelters that support animal rescue and adoption efforts.
Founder, Anna McCarthy was baking in the kitchen when her dog, Aubie, reached his paws onto the counter to get a peek at what she was baking. That's when she began to research what she could bake for Aubie and the neighborhood dogs too! She decided to start selling her canine creations and donate the profits to organizations that help to find homes for abandoned dogs...and Bones for Homes officially began in March. 2010.
Bones For Homes dog treats are handmade with loving care and fresh ingredients. Ingredients are posted for everyone to see, but most importantly the recipes are Aubie tested and approved! Seriously, Aubie, has a very sensitive stomach and in addition to having Aubie try the recipes, several dogs in the neighborhood receive samples to see if the dogs (and their owners) approve of the treats. Surveys are given to the dog owners with the sample treats so that every time a new canine creation is tested, feedback from at least a dozen dog-owners are compiled. So when you look at the recipes, the paw rating is the actual feedback from Anna's neighborhood pups.
